I finished another pair of socks!
These are some test knit socks for my friend Claire, made with yarn from Keegan Lane Yarns. I really love them! The lace pattern on the sock was fun to knit, and the yarn is gorgeous, soft, and superwash. I couldn’t ask for more. I just feel bad that they took so long to knit! August 25-January 15. What can I say? At the beginning of the semester, I thought I was going to have a really light workload and stress-free fall. Oh yeah. And then I adopted Snake. So much for that.
Of all the socks I’ve made, this is only the third pair I’ve done on US 1s. I think I’m going to stick with 2s from now on. The difference seems small when you think about it, but considering how many stitches there are in a pair of socks, it’s significant..and really sort of maddening.
Now that I’ve finished the only two projects I was working on, I’m left with empty needles, a ton of potential projects, and no idea what to start next. Sometimes it feels like I’m only inspired when I already have a ton of stuff going on and no time to knit anyways. Maybe that’s the reason why so many people cast on a billion and one projects at a time. Hmm. Definitely something to consider.
Anyways..DID I MENTION I GOT A KITCHENAID FOR CHRISTMAS?! Best. Gift. Ever. (We named it Bruce.) I got to use it for the first time last night, to make some chocolate chip cookies. I’ve made them before and stuff, so I didn’t take a picture. But I DID take a picture of the cookies I made this afternoon..
If they don’t look all that appetizing, that’s because they’re for Snake. They are really simple to make, just four ingredients, and you can find the recipe here. They call for regular old people ingredients..I’m not gonna lie, I tried one. It was gross. Snake seems to like them a lot, though, so that’s all that matters! ..especially because (you can’t tell in the picture), the recipe made an epic SHIT TON of cookies. Seriously, I have half of a giant Ziploc bag full of them.

Oooh, cookies for Snake – she’s a lucky girl!
Love the socks, they turned out really cute!
great socks! Both pairs!
I wish I had the problem of “there’s nothing on my needles”
I have so many things lined up…..
Those cookies look icky. Do they have squash in them?
